our work
What we do
At Mercy Hands Uganda, we don’t see problems — we see potential. As a Christian nonprofit in Uganda, we believe every child who drops out of school, every youth without opportunity, and every family struggling for clean water carries a God-given destiny. Our mission is to help that destiny rise.
Every child who drops out of school, every youth without opportunity, every family struggling for clean water carries a God-given destiny. Our mission is to help that destiny rise.
Unlike many charities that operate from the outside, our work is ground-led. We are Ugandans serving Ugandans, rooted in the very communities we are transforming. This isn’t someone else’s project — this is our home, our mission field, and our calling.
We don’t just tell you about change. We invite you to see it with your own eyes. Step into a classroom, walk through a construction site, or share a smile with a child whose life has been completely redirected. Transformation is not a theory here — it’s happening every single day.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
— Proverbs 22:6
Bringing Children Back to School
In Mpigi and across Uganda, too many children are forced to leave school because their families can’t afford fees. When this happens, dreams collapse and cycles of poverty continue.
Through education sponsorships, we step in to rewrite those stories. For as little as $70 a month, a child receives tuition, uniforms, meals, and encouragement. What might seem small is actually destiny-shaping. That one gift keeps a child in the classroom today, and one day may put them in a position to lead their family, their village, or even their nation.
Equipping Youth With Practical Skills
We know not every young person thrives in a traditional classroom. That’s why Mercy Hands offers vocational training in trades like tailoring, welding, baking, and plumbing.
These programs don’t just give youth a way to earn an income — they give them confidence, dignity, and independence. A teenager who once felt “left behind” becomes a skilled worker, a provider, and a role model for others.

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.”
— Psalm 127:1
Building Schools & Infrastructure That Lasts
We don’t just dream about education — we build it. Right now, we are raising Champions High School, a 12-classroom, 3-story Christian-centered facility where students will be taught not only academics, but leadership and character.
And it’s not just schools. From water tanks that keep children safe and healthy to community projects that strengthen families, we are constructing a future where the next generation has the tools to succeed.
Extending Mercy Into Prisons & Hospitals
Jesus never turned away from the broken or forgotten — and neither do we. Our prison and hospital ministry brings God’s mercy into places of suffering.
We visit the sick, the imprisoned, and those who feel left behind by society. Sometimes it’s a prayer. Sometimes it’s practical support. Always, it’s a reminder that they are seen, loved, and not abandoned.

“I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
— Matthew 25:36

Clean Water Solutions for Families & Schools
In rural Uganda, clean water is often a luxury. Children spend hours walking to fetch it, and waterborne diseases steal health and opportunity.
Mercy Hands is changing that. Through wells and water tanks, we bring safe water directly to villages, churches, and schools. It’s more than convenience — it’s life-saving. A community with clean water is healthier, stronger, and free to pursue education and growth.

Mercy in Action
- Led by Locals: We live where we serve. We know the struggles firsthand, and we’re here for the long haul.
- Open-Door Accountability: We invite you to visit before you give. Ask questions. Walk with us. See the work.
- Faith at the Center: Our work is spiritual and structural. We don’t just meet needs; we raise champions.
- Partnership, Not Charity: You’re not a donor. You’re a partner in the story God is writing here.

our causes
we invite you to support our Christian non-profit in uganda

Sponsor a Student
For just $70 per month, you can keep a child in school—covering tuition, uniforms, meals, and supplies. More than that, you’re giving them dignity, hope, and the chance to fulfill their God-given destiny.

Support Our Teachers
Our teachers are on the frontlines of transformation. They are discipling leaders, restoring confidence, and shaping destiny, but reliable salary support remains one of our biggest challenges. Your generosity keeps skilled, faith-filled educators in the classroom where they belong.

Help Build Champions High School
We’re raising a 12-classroom, 3-story secondary school where students will be taught not only academics, but leadership, character, and faith. Brick by brick, partner with us to build a legacy that will serve generations to come.

support vocational training
Not every young person thrives in a classroom. Through your giving, we train youth in tailoring, welding, plumbing, baking, and more — equipping them to build a future with their own hands. Your gift can help a teen go from “left behind” to “leader.”

Bring Clean Water to Families
Wells and water tanks transform entire communities — protecting children’s health, freeing up hours of their day, and giving families hope. Your gift literally saves lives and creates ripple effects for years to come.

Extend Mercy to Prisons & Hospitals
When you give to our outreach, you’re sending encouragement and hope into places where many feel forgotten. From food to prayer, your generosity brings God’s mercy to those who need it most.
