Here are the hearts behind Mercy Hands Uganda.
Dr. Daniel Kuteesa Waddimba
Co-Founder & Vision Leader
Pastor Daniel grew up in rural Uganda and remembers what it felt like to watch friends drop out of school because their families couldn’t afford fees. Some of those friends ended up stuck in cycles of poverty, while others never got the chance to dream. That memory never left him.
Years later, with a heart full of faith, Daniel stepped out to start Mercy Hands Uganda — not because it was easy, but because he believed God was calling him to give children the opportunities he once wished his friends had. Today, Daniel’s joy comes from walking sponsors into classrooms and showing them the very futures their gifts are making possible.
Daniel is husband to Juliet and father to Zipporah, Hannah & Gideon.

Juliet Waddimba
Community Builder & Volunteer
For Juliette, the work is deeply personal. She has always carried what she calls a “mother’s burden” for children who feel forgotten. As she walked through villages and met families, she saw the same story repeated: bright, eager children forced to drop out, and youth with no path forward.
Her vision was not just to “help,” but to walk alongside families — to celebrate with them, pray with them, and remind them of the hope that still exists. At Mercy Hands, Juliette has become a steady presence in the lives of many, from children she personally encourages to parents who find strength in her faith-filled words.
Juliet is wife to Daniel and mother to Zipporah, Hannah & Gideon.

Beyond Daniel and Juliet, Mercy Hands is carried by a team of teachers, trainers, builders, and volunteers who each bring their gifts to the mission. Some teach music, dance and drama. Others lay bricks at Mercy Hands Nursery and Primary School. Others sit with prisoners or pray in hospitals. Together, they form a living picture of mercy in action.

Prayer Requests
At Mercy Hands Uganda, prayer is the foundation of everything we do — from building schools to visiting prisons. We welcome your prayers for:
Children in our education program
Pray for the students in our schools—that they would grow in knowledge, confidence, and character. Ask God to protect their hearts and minds, and to plant dreams in them that align with His purpose for their lives.
Youth in vocational training
Lift up the young people in our skills programs. Pray that they would gain not just practical abilities, but also a renewed sense of hope and direction. May they discover who God created them to be as they learn new things.
Our teachers
Our teachers are the heart of our school. Would you pray for encouragement, strength, and wisdom. And would you also pray that we’d continue to have the provision needed to support them well—spiritually, emotionally, and practically.
Construction: the building and expansion of our school
Pray over the continued building of our school. Ask for safety for every worker, smooth progress on each phase, and that this space would become a place where leaders and world-changers are formed.
Strength and wisdom for our team
Pray for our team—for unity, joy, and discernment in every decision. Ask God to refresh us daily and to remind us often that this is His work and we are just vessels of His mercy.
Families in need of clean water
Please pray for the rural families and communities we serve—that they would experience health and relief through clean water. Ask God to bless the land and meet both their physical and spiritual needs.
Our prison and hospital outreach
Pray for every soul we encounter in prisons and hospitals—that they would feel seen, loved, and never forgotten. Ask that our visits would bring encouragement, and that the love of Jesus would break through in unexpected ways.
